1 ISSA LEVEL ::: YACHT CREW If you dream of taking your first steps in yachting but don't know where to start, we recommend you to join one of our crews for a week. Having proved yourself as an active and competent crew member and received initial skills under the guidance of experienced captains, you will be able to pass yet simple examinations and become the owner of the first stage in yachting, the certificate ISSA Yacht Crew.
It is a certificate of a competent crew member who is starts getting acquainted with sailing. If you plan to take part in sea trips and do not want to participate in them only as a tourist, this certificate is right for you.
After receiving this certificate, you will be able to continue your training to the next level of a coastal skipper (Coastal) Skipper.
Estimated analogues of ISSA Yacht Crew in other systems: International Crew (IYT) and Competent Crew (RYA)
The certificate is given since the age of 10 and older.
1.1 ISSA INLAND SKIPPER It is an intermediate level allowing the owner of the certificate to sail in inland waters (not far then 2 n.m. from coastline) on a small watercraft (permissions are specified in the table above)
2 ISSA LEVEL ::: INSHORE (COASTAL) SKIPPER Most likely, you will want to come for two weeks of training and get a certificate of Yacht Inshore Skipper – the first skipper level. This certificate gives to its owner the opportunity to rent a yacht and sail it independently. The certificate gives the possibility to sail on all charter waters of the world practically.
The certificate confirms that its owner has the skills allowing to sail on a yacht up to 24 meters long, during the day-time in the coastal zone (up to 20 miles from the shelter) in waves up to 6 Bf. The detailed permissions for each level are specified in the table above.

The certificate is given since the age of 16 and older.
3 ISSA LEVEL ::: OFFSHORE YACHT SKIPPER This level is designed for advanced sailors who plan expeditions to the waters with tides. The certificate confirms the skills sufficient to sail the yacht in light and dark hours at a distance from a sheltered port up to 100 sea miles.
Offshore Yacht Skipper is obliged to be able to plan of a long passage, to show off practical skills of definition and maneuvering in narrow places, as well as to use a life raft and other means and work off MOB at night.
Entrance qualification for
the training course of ISSA Offshore Yacht Skipper requires certificates of previous levels, 800 independent sea miles, 25 days on the sea in senior positions of a captain or a chief of watch.
